Relocation

Pastor Matthew AshimolowoKICC is required to relocate from its 9.5-acre site in Hackney - which we own debt free - to make way for the 2012 Olympic Games.

A plot at Beam Reach, a brown field industrial site in the London Borough of Havering, has been identified by the London Development Agency as a suitable location for our community complex.

With the full support of the Olympic Delivery Authority and the London Development Agency, from whom we are acquiring the Site, we are now seeking to make a permanent new home in Havering.

What happens now?

In order to make Havering our new home, KICC needs to obtain planning permission for its proposals. This involves making an application to the planning authority seeking their permission.

We will shortly be submitting an application for full planning permission to the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation (LTGDC), the planning authority for major developments in the Thames Gateway Area.

LTGDC will consult with the London Borough of Havering and other stakeholders, including local people, before making a decision.

The planning authority will assess KICC's relocation to Beam Reach, based on the type of use proposed and its relationship to national and local policies and other planning issues.
