Steps with Purpose: Move More, Get Healthier, Make an Impact

There’s a stirring call echoing across our KICC family: a call to step out, move with intention, and make a real difference. Welcome to Steps with Purpose, a faith-anchored, community-driven initiative that embodies KICC’s heart to go beyond the walls of the church and touch lives in powerful ways.
This isn’t just another fitness challenge. It’s a 12-week virtual journey that invites you to combine your personal health and wellbeing with generosity, community, and purpose. Every step you take helps transform lives, both your own and those of others, through health, wellness, and global medical missions.
A Journey That Moves Together
From 9 March to 31 May, participants across the globe will join a shared virtual journey using The Big Challenge platform. Each individual step, whether a brisk morning walk, a family stroll, or a jog around the park, contributes to a collective journey around the world.
Inclusivity is at the heart of Steps with Purpose. Participants of all abilities and fitness levels can join, moving at a pace that suits their circumstances. There’s no pressure, no performance quota, just the joy of taking steps with intention, knowing that your effort matters.
Along the way, a dedicated private Facebook Community Hub will provide encouragement, accountability, prayer, and celebration. Here, you can share victories, cheer on others, and grow stronger together in faith and community.
Personal Goals, Collective Impact
Steps with Purpose is designed to meet you where you are. Perhaps your goal is to:
– Build consistent movement habits
– Improve fitness, stamina, or energy levels
– Lose weight or maintain wellbeing
– Connect socially and spiritually through shared activity
Whatever your goal, each step contributes to something far bigger. Collectively, participants aim to reach 500 million steps, with an individual stretch goal of 1 million steps over the 12 weeks. And with every step, we’re raising funds via JustGiving to support:
– Health and wellness initiatives
– Global medical missions
– Communities disproportionately impacted by lifestyle-related conditions
As Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo reminds us: “Make your life count. Forget yesterday; embrace tomorrow. Start living a life of significance from today.” Every step you take is an opportunity to live out that calling.

Celebrating Together
The journey doesn’t end online. On 6 June, we come together for a family-friendly 5K run/walk, a joyful in-person celebration of faithfulness, perseverance, and community impact. And during IGOC, we will honour participants for their dedication, teamwork, and life-changing contributions, recognising:

– Most Consistent Participant

– Team Spirit Award
